Modern Shevchenko studies broadly embraces Shevchenko’s heritage, which is precious to us, but even on the main lines of this work we have not yet reached firm and indisputable conclusions.

We cannot forget the opposite question, which has been very little developed in relation to Shevchenko: the influence of the Ukrainian poet on other literatures, as well as on the Ukrainian literary tradition.

We know very little about Shevchenko the poet, the specifics of his work have not been studied for a long time, and the social conditioning of his stylistic contours has not been revealed.

Methodologically, this collection is still of a "transitional age", but some of my theses will be useful to the future researcher who will be able to look once again at Shevchenko’s entire work with a synthetic eye.
