Below the image – inscription in etching stroke: I. Sokolov, on the left below the image – Engraved Shevchenko 1859, at the bottom middle of the image – Oh arise Kharko, oh arise Father, you asked by men.
Below – red pencil inscription by hand Shevchenko: To cossack Nicholas Bilozersky to memory on 12 March 1860 Shevchenko.
Etching is made after the picture by I. Sokolov "Friends".
Date rectified by the deadline of presentation works for the exhibition in 1859 at the Academy of Fine Arts [Central State Historical Archive in Leningrad, fund 789, v. 2, p. 32].
By etching "Friends" and the etchings of Rembrandt "The parable of the workers in the vineyard" Shevchenko in 1859 was named in academics ["Shevchenko in the documents and materials", K., 1950, p. 211, 212].
Except this copy, in Taras Shevchenko National Museum and other museums and archives stored copies of the etching of different states of work, some of them have Shevchenko's inscriptions, namely:

In the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko stored the instance of the first state of work without words from the song under the image.
In the State Literary Memorial House-Museum of Taras Shevchenko (Kyiv) stored copy of this etching with inscription: This picture of the famous Taras Grigorevich Shevchenko, he personally donated to me, in memory of his stay at my house in 1859. A. Khrapal.

In 1859 a copy of the etching exposed at the exhibition at the Academy of Fine Arts ("Pointer works of art exposed in the halls of the Imperial Academy of Arts", St. Petersburg, 1859, p. 10, № 45); in 1911 – at the exhibition of works of art Shevchenko in Kiev (Product, № 76); in 1918 – at the first exhibition of Ukrainian antiquities in Swan (Product, № 172 a); in 1929 – at the exhibition of works of Taras Shevchenko in Chernihiv (Catalogue, p. 18, № 10), in 1939 – at the Republican Shevchenko Jubilee exhibition in Kyiv (Product, № 360).
