In the literature is found under the title: "Fort over cliff" ["Catalogue of V. Tarnowski's museum of ukrainian antiquities", Vol. II, Chernigov, 1900, p. 184, № 314], "Fortress of the cliff " [A. Novitsky, Taras Shevchenko as a painter, Lviv – Moscow, 1914, p. 59, № 286]. There is a watercolor of same name by Br. Zaleski in the album Obruchev (stored in the Taras Shevchenko National Museum), where flagpole shown on the same side.
