Dated on the basis of record Shevchenko in his diary on 27 October 1857:
"A few days in a row a good clear weather, and today I could not resist and went out to paint. Painted the church of the Prophet Elijah with part of the Kremlin in the background. Church of Elijah the Prophet was built in 1506 in memory of fire shooting, saved the city of the Tatars and Nogays".
