This area Shevchenko visited several times in June and July 1859 that claims by A. Kozachkovsky's memories and documents, as well as author's date of song, recorded by Shevchenko in village Zelenky, Kanev County, July 27, 1859. This is the basis for the dating of the picture [see "T. Shevchenko in the documents and materials", K., 1950, p. 227; A. Kozachkovsky, Memories on Taras Shevchenko, "Kiev Telegraph", 26.II 1875, № 25, "Russian bibliophile", 1914, № 1, p. 17 – 18].
