Lower left – ink inscription by Shevchenko hand: In Perejaslav; below in pencil: Intercession church built in 1709 [by colonel Myrovych].

On the back bottom right – inscription in pencil: Cerkiew fundowana przez półkownika Mirowicza. 1709.

Date specified in Shevchenko's description, determines the end year of church construction. Description given in his story "Gemini".

Picture dated after the letter of A. Kozachkovsky to O. M. Bodjans'ky of 20 Sept 1845.

In "Guide for Shevchenko's exhibition" Leningrad, 1939, section II, p. 13, № 22, registered under the name "In Perejaslav". With same name picture was reproduced in the book M. M. Kalaushyn "T. Shevchenko in portraits and illustrations", Leningrad, 1940, p. 76.

First published under the name "Intercession church in Perejaslav" [«Kievan Antiquity», vol. XXXII, 1891, March, p. 371].

Criminal Russian authorities destroyed this church in 1936 – 1937.
