All Saints church in Kyiv-Pechersk lavra
Taras Shevchenko. All Saints church in Kyiv-Pechersk lavra. Paper, Sepia (27,3 × 36,9 cm). Kyiv. [IV – IX 1846]. National Art Museum of Ukraine, inv. number 16.
Lower left – signature in pencil: Mikhail Sazhin.
For composition of work, lighting and especially for taking pictures of trees J.P. Zatenatsky attributed as Shevchenko's work [see newspaper "Literature and Art" from March 29, 1945, № 11 (103)].
Obviously, this is one of those drawings that Shevchenko executed after returning from Sedniv by intention "depict all noticeable sights in Kyiv, the interiors of temples and interesting outskirts" and which Sazhin drew "some parts". At this figure is undoubtedly Sazhin's image of a woman and a monk.
