Lower left engraved by Shevchenko's hand signature and date: 1844 // Shevchenko. In the image middle name: In Kyiv.

This etching in letters Shevchenko called "Kyiv Pechersk well".

Date of etching refined based on a letter of Shevchenko to O. M. Bodjansky of 6 – 7. May 1844.

The sketch to drawing was in the album of 1839 – 1843.

Storage areas of described specimen: V. Tarnowski's Museum of Ukrainian antiquity in Chernigov – № 436, Chernihiv Regional Museum of History, Institute of Taras Shevchenko, Kharkiv, gallery paintings of Taras Shevchenko, Kharkiv.

In 1911 exposed in an exhibition of works of art Shevchenko in Kiev (catalog, № 72).

Etching board belonged to K. Swidzinski, and after 1855 there was in a library Krasinsky in Warsaw. Current location of this board is not known.
