Taras Shevchenko. House of widow in the Ukraine. Pencil on paper (22,7 × 29,5 cm). [May – October 1843]. Taras Shevchenko National Museum, inv number g–850.

On the back in pencil inscription at the top left by hand of Chestahivsky: [Widow] house in Ukraine. Under this name, this picture was listed by Chestahivsky to his list at number 116.

Manner of execution is close to figures in 1843.

In literature proposed other dating of the picture – from 1843 to 1847: 1843 – 1844 [M.G. Burachek, The Grand People's Artist, K., 1939, Table. XXI]; 1843 – 1847 [«Product paint work Shevchenko, exhibited in the gallery», X., 1934, p. 14]; 1844 – 1847 [M. Kalaushyn, Taras Shevchenko in portraits and illustrations, L., 1940, p. 82], 1846 [I. T. Koshoviy, Taras Shevchenko in Kiev, K., 1941, p. 19].
