Drawings made on 3rd sheet of album 1840 – 1844. Top right in black pencil marked: 3 (number of sheet), below an inscription: 4 (number of page in album).

On the sheet on the left – the rider, sketch of the painting "Catherine". Right – the profile of Suvorov (?) and the figure of a man with illustration "Death of Potemkin" to the book "History of Suvorov" by N.A.Polevoj. In the upper right corner – sketch of female figure.

Dated by the time work on the painting "Catherine" and illustrations for the "History of Suvorov".

First mentioned by V.P. Gorlenko in 1886 called "Riding soldier" [Gorlenko V. Shevchenko's albums and pictures in V.V. Tarnowski's collection // Kievan antiquity. – 1886. – № 2. – P. 404].

First commented and reproduced in 1932 by A.P. Novitsky named "Horseman, farmer and others" [T. Shevchenko Complete Works. – [Kharkiv, 1932. – T. 8]. – p. 4. – № 4. – Tab. 144].

Storage sites within the Album: no later than 1885 was received by V. Tarnowskі; from 1899 – V. Tarnowski's Chernihiv museum of ukrainian antiquities, 1925 – Chernihiv Historical Museum, 1933 – Taras Shevchenko institute; since 1936 – Shevchenko Institute of ukrainian literature.
