Lagoda Anton Ivanovich (1816 – 1876) – comes from Ukrainian noble family lived in St. Petersburg, served as clerk of the Commission of state control. Was close to the friends of Shevchenko.

First described and reproduced in 1912 by V.L. Modzalevsky. O.I. Shishkina, granddaughter of depicted, sent a photo of the original work of Shevchenko to V.L. Modzalevsky (picture at that time was her property) [Modzalevsky V.L. Little Russia genealogy book. – Kiev, 1912. – T. 3. – Between the p. 6 – 7].

Storage areas: property of A.I. Lagoda; from 1876 – O.A. Lagoda-Shishkina; from 1881 – I.I. Shishkin; from 1898 – A.I. Shishkina; then – O.O. Korshunov; from 1935 – Gallery of pictures by T.H. Shevchenko (Kharkiv); from 1948 – State Museum of T.H. Shevchenko (Kyiv).

Exhibition: 1985. Kyiv. Museum of Kyiv. Shevchenko-portrait (no catalogue).
