Illustration to text on page 233 of book, which refers to events that preceded the Suvorov's Italian expedition 1799. Commander denied defense plans of Austria and other allies of Russia in the war against France, considering them doomed to failure. Questioning of the Austrian prime minister Johann Thugut, he refused to disclose its operational plan of hostilities. Suvorov opened the "blanket" – a clean sheet of paper, signed by Paul I, and said: "This is my plan".

July 27, 1843 it was announced in the press that the third issue of "History of Suvorov" sent to subscribers [Northern Bee. – 1843. – 27 July], where the artwork was reproduces for the first time.
