Illustration not signed by Shevchenko, but the presence in the album 1840 – 1844 sketch and two studies for this picture (outline of hands with pistol) confirms his authorship. Illustration to text on page 75 of the book, which describes the of arrest of E.I. Pugachev by his associates, the Ural Cossacks. In peasant hut in Uzen Cossacks attacked the rebel leader and fight down him, despite the desperate resistance.
At December 14, 1842 was announced in the press that the first issue of "History of Suvorov" sent to subscribers [Northern Bee. – 1842. – 14 December], where the artwork was reproduces for the first time.
