Drawing
Taras Shevchenko. Vydubitsky monastery. Pencil on paper (17,6 × 26,1 cm). [Not later than X 1843]. Taras Shevchenko National Museum, inv. number g – 365.
The character of the landscape and letter of V.M. Repnina to Charles Einar give reason to believe that a picture made in the summer to October 1843 (before the arrival of Shevchenko to Yagotyn) [see. "Russian propylaes", Vol. II, M., 1916, p. 203 – 221].
Etching made after this drawing for "Picturesque Ukraine".
Given the size and quality of paper, one can assume that the picture written on one sheet, cut out from the album 1839 – 1843, before the numbering of the pages.
Storage areas: property of L. M. Zhemchuzhnykov, J. N. Tereshchenko, State Russian Museum, Leningrad Institute of Taras Shevchenko, Kharkiv, gallery paintings of Taras Shevchenko, Kharkiv.
