Taras Shevchenko. Portrait of J.-E. Münnich. Engraving (11,5 × 9,3 cm) placed between pages 82 – 83 of the book "Russian generals" by N.A.Polevoj.
In the middle of the engraved portrait: H.R (Henry Robinson).
Shevchenko for the book had to make a portrait of Burkhard Christoph von Münnich (1683 – 1767) – Count, Russian military and statesman, General Field Marshal. In the preface to the publication of this portrait album, "Portrait of Münnich made after the portrait, located in St. Petersburg Peter and Paul's German School" [Polevoj N. Russian generals. – St. Petersburg, 1845. – P. XI]. However, for unknown reasons, in the N.A.Polevoj's book placed a portrait of the son of the commander – Johann-Ernest Münnich (1703 – 1788), Earl, president of commercial college, the author of memoirs. This error first noticed by D.A. Rovinsky. Considering the engraved portraits of J.-E. Münnich, he gives a portrait and description, placed in a N.A.Polevoj's book, indicating that the original from which this engraved portrait, owned by General Samsonov [Rovinsky D.A. Detailed dictionary of Russian engraved portraits. – St. Petersburg, 1889. – T. 1. – S. 1125].
