Sketches made on the back of the 25th sheet, and later attached to the album of 1840 – 1844 marked with ink at the bottom right: 47 (number of page in album).

On page – outline sketches shoulder joint, sitter's back and separately left foot – preparatory exercises for exam work "Two sitters», presented at the drawing exam December 24, 1840 [Yatsyuk V. Attributing some Shevchenko paintings // Folk art and ethnography. – 1984. – № 2. – p. 19 – 20] Preliminary figures made of Stephen sitter.

Dated approximately mid-December 1840, given the fact that for the performance of the examination drawings from nature Academy students were given two weeks.

Reproduced for the first time in 1932 by A.P. Novitsky called "Three sketches of sitters" [T. Shevchenko Complete Works. – [Kharkiv, 1932. – T. 8]. – p. 25. – № 202. – Tab. 132].

Storage sites within the Album: no later than 1885 was received by V. Tarnowskі; from 1899 – V. Tarnowski's Chernihiv museum of ukrainian antiquities, 1925 – Chernihiv Historical Museum, 1933 – Taras Shevchenko institute; since 1936 – Shevchenko Institute of ukrainian literature.
