Picture was made duging travel Shevchenko in Kyiv and Volyn provinces in 1846.

Taras Shevchenko as a painter. – Lviv – Moscow, 1914, p. 52, № 157].

In all these sources incorrectly identified techniques – watercolor.

In 1929 exposed in an exhibition of works of T. Shevchenko in Chernihiv (Catalogue, p. 18, № 17).
