Left at the bottom of oil paint – the date and signature of the author: 1847. Shevchenko.

Date specified by time of staying Shevchenko in the village Bihach. On his stay in the village Bihach, Chernigov county (now Mena district, Chernihiv region), Shevchenko mentioned in a letter to A. I. Lyzogub from 16.VII 1852 [see memories W. Demych – "Russian Antiquity", Vol. V, 1891, p. 430, and report of Chernihiv Governor Prince M.A. Dolgorukov – "T. Shevchenko in the documents and materials", K., 1950, p. 103].

Elizabeth V. Keykuatova, born in 1813, descended from a family of Lukasiewicz [see V.L. Modzalevsky. Little Russia genealogy book, Vol. III, K., 1908, p. 209]. On it also mentions V. Repnina in a letter to C. Einar [see "Russian propylei", Vol. II, M., 1916, p. 211, 221].

In the literature depicted person incorrectly defined as Natalia D. Keykuatova. First named as E. Keykuatova in book S.E. Raevsky "Life and work of painter Taras Shevchenko" [X., 1939, p. 37].

In 1911 exposed at Artistic Works Shevchenko in Kyiv (catalog, № 40); 1951 – the exhibition of art of the Ukrainian SSR in Moscow (catalog, p. 104).
