New study on Shevchenko
We continue publishing Oleksandr Konysky’s book "Taras Shevchenko-Hrushevsky" (1898). Today – the subsection "3. Shevchenko’s miserable apartment" of the section "Taras Shevchenko from the time of his redemption from serfdom to the publication of his first "Kobzar"."
We see that throughout 1839, Shevchenko’s dwelling was a truly miserable cell, if not in the ground somewhere, under a four-story stone house, then somewhere "under the heavens."
